Hallowe’en needs to be negotiated first, however, after that, it’s all systems go for the festive season.
Christmas lights are an important dimension to the Yuletide celebrations and Fermoy always makes a big effort for this extra special time of year.
Businesses and residents on the north side of Fermoy have been very proactive in illuminating their part of town and the results get more spectacular with every passing year.
Funding is essential if existing lights are to be maintained and new lights purchased. With this in mind, proprietor of The Long Bar, Imelda Cullinane, hosted a very successful coffee morning last Saturday. In true northside fashion, locals didn’t leave Imelda and her team down.
The event was really well supported by generous members of the public and the coffers are a lot healthier as a result. The committee who oversaw the fundraiser wish to thank everyone who contributed or assisted in any way.
There was a great array of home baking and other confectionary on display – all of which was consumed.
Next up for the Northern Lights Committee is a table quiz – details of which will be announced shortly. Again, the expectation is that those resident on Barrack Hill and surrounding areas will turn out in force to make the occasion a night to remember.
