You are warmly invited to Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork, for our Novena to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, from 31st August to 8th September, 2025. It always proves to be a lovely introduction to Autumn.
This year’s theme, ‘Following in the Footsteps of Mary’, gently invites us to walk with Mary in faith, love, and trust.
We have asked Fr Brendan O’Rourke C.Ss.R., with reflections by Fr Dan Baragry CSs.R, to gently explore with us unique aspects of Mary’s life:
The general timetable is as follows.
- Day 1: 31st – Mary Our Friend by Fr. John Fitzgerald (Parish Priest at the Sacred Heart Church Western Road, Cork) will conduct this day himself.
- Day 2: Mary, Model for a Listening Church
- Day 3: Reconciliation Day (No 8pm Mass)
- Day 4: Mary, Model of Hope
- Day 5: Mary, Model of Compassion
- Day 6: Mary, Model of Service
- Day 7: Mary’s World – with Sacrament of Anointing at 10am & 8pm, and a healing Mass in the Sacred Heart Centre.
- Day 8: Mary is our Sister in Faith
- Day 9: Mary, Messenger of God’s Love
