Preparations for the St. Patrick’s Weekend Gathering in Fermoy are well underway.  Elbow Lane Inn has engaged Comhaltas Ceoltóirí, Mainistir Fhear Maí for their very popular Seisún show.  Other pubs have expressed interest in putting on special entertainment on the Saturday evening before the parade on Sunday.

The committee urges everyone to ask their family and friends home for St. Patrick’s Weekend and partake in the festivities and the parade. With March 17th falling on a Sunday and the Monday being a bank holiday, it's ideal for weekend visitors. A festival atmosphere is promised around Fermoy on the Saturday evening.

PARTICIPATION IMPORTANT

This year, parade participants are being asked to make an extra special effort given the year that's in it. The parade is always a great source of community pride.

The website for 2013, www.fermoypatricksday.com, went live last week. All those interested in taking part in the parade can register on the site. People can also follow the committee on Twitter @FermoyStPatrick
