Pete ‘the vet’ Wedderburn, as seen on TV3, will talk on how to ‘Keep the woof in your dog and your cat purring into old age’, at Silversprings Moran Hotel on Thursday, January 30 at 7.30pm. Local animal rescue expert Lisa O’Donovan, ISPCA Cork, will also give practical tips for making a happy home for pets.

Hosted by Prime Health Vets, a group of 10 veterinary practices in the Cork area, tickets are just €5 and 100% of proceeds will go to four local animal welfare charities. Tickets available from vet practices who are members of Prime Health Vets.

PJ O’Driscoll of Cashman O’Driscoll, Glanmire, says: “Prevention is better than cure is just as true for our small animal pets as it is for humans. The talk will give pet owners practical information on how to manage their pet’s health throughout life: people are very active on health when it’s a little puppy or kitten, but being proactive about your pet’s health needs to continue throughout life to avoid and best manage any health problems.”

Pet owners will find out:

· How to keep your puppy/kitten healthy

· Avoiding health problems as your pet grows

· Why vaccinations are important

· Tips for making a happy home for your pet

· Animal Rescue stories.
