Before they set out on a gruelling 8-festival tour, The Palace Players will stage the final four ‘home’ performances of their festival contender, ‘The Gigli Concert’ by Tom Murphy this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and again on Wednesday of next week (March 2nd).
Please note there is no performance on this Thursday as was previously advertised.
The three-strong cast is drawn from last year’s All-Ireland winning cast and they are Sean Ahern who plays the part of dynamatologist JPW King; Brendan Dunlea as The Man and Michelle Hurley plays JPW King’s mistress, Mona.
The play runs through a whole range of emotions and is a mammoth undertaking for any group. However, the Kilworth-based Palace Players will be hoping to make an impression with it at their first festival which is in Scarriff, Co Clare on Friday of next week (March 4).
Their next outing will see them perform in nearby Ballyduff on Monday 7th with further outings that week in Castleisland, Co Kerry (Friday 11) and Newry, Co Down (Saturday 12).
Tickets €12/10 from the usual outlets – The Avondhu office, Fermoy (025-32227); Cotter’s Bar, Kilworth (025-27109); Hyland’s Bookshop, Mitchelstown (025-24528) or call 087-6492514.
