Why the most ‘independent of independents’ joined Aontú

History was made in Cork on 26th January, when one of county Cork’s most dedicated Independent Politicians spoke on his decision to join forces with the political party, Aontú.

Making his inaugural speech in Cork County Hall as an Aontú Rep for Fermoy, Cllr Peter O’Donoghue said he found his ‘clan’ in Aontú, a party he said, that just seven years since its formation, has built a strong foundation in Cork and across the country for keeping to its core values of life, unity and economic justice.

Cllr O’Donoghue said: “I am absolutely honoured to be here today representing my constituents and representing Aontú and all that it stands for.
