Kilworth resident Owen Ashton has plenty to smile about this Christmas, having being crowned FBD Young Farmer of the Year over the weekend.
Originally from Navan, the 29 year old manages a farm of 180 cows in Castlelyons, of which he owns the majority. Living in Kilworth with his fiancée Laura Kenny and son Lorgan, he was announced as Young Farmer of the Year 2021 last Friday night.
Interestingly, the young man is not from a farming background, but fell in love with the career choice from an uncle in Wales
