Residents in the region are being urged to ensure their vehicles are locked and secure, with all valuables removed when unattended, after a car was stolen from a property in Mitchelstown in recent days.
The vehicle was taken from outside a home in the Ard Mhuilinn area of the town, and is believed to have been used by the perpetrators for joyriding, as the car was subsequently discovered abandoned in a nearby field. It is understood that the car sustained significant damage in the incident and was ‘completely destroyed’ when recovered.
Stolen on Sunday night, into the early hours of Monday morning, an appeal has been issued for anyone with information to contact An Garda Síochana and for locals in the area to remain vigilant. In a statement to The Avondhu, a Garda spokesperson confirmed the incident is being investigated.
