Scoil Mhuire National School, Ballyhooly has experienced considerable growth in recent years which is good news for the village and its environs.

More pupils, means more activity and extra activities including extra curricular activities, need to be financed. Spearheaded by members of the Scoil Mhuire Parents’ Association, with support from teachers and board of management personnel, it was agreed to hold a cookery demonstration in Corrin Event Centre last Thursday night.

Heavily promoted and with a concerted effort to sell the €20 tickets, a crowd of several hundred turned up to see celebrity chefs, Martin Shanahan and Kevin Dundon in action.

No strangers to the pressures associated with consistently delivering first class meals to discerning customers, this duo combined lively chat and considerable culinary skill to keep the capacity audience both informed and amused.
