The Fermoy Union of Parishes is preparing to welcome Reverend Clodagh Yambasu as on Sunday, March 3, she will be instituted as rector by the Church of Ireland Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, the Right Reverend Dr Paul Colton.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Rev Clodagh Yambasu said she is looking forward to her new role, having preached locally for the first time on Sunday last.
Coming from a Methodist background, Rev Clodagh’s transfer to the Church of Ireland was made possible by the Covenant which the Church of Ireland and the Methodist Church in Ireland agreed in 2001, and as a result of amendments the Church of Ireland made to its Canons in 2014.
