Due to weather conditions last weekend, the annual D'hillbillies Mud Run at Gortnahown, Mitchelstown was delayed by 24 hours (going ahead on Sunday last and not Saturday as scheduled).
This however, this didn't take from an event that incorporates cross country running with some challenging obstacles – and all for a great cause.
Participants started arriving in Gortnahown early on Sunday morning where they were registered and briefed before moving on to a designated holding area.
Piotr Sekula made light of the conditions to be the first participant home. Speaking to The Avondhu after the run, the good humoured Polish national said the course was 'interesting and minimally difficult'.
