A new sculpture, commemorating and paying tribute to the late philanthropist Tom Cavanagh and his contributions to the riverside town of Cappoquin, has been installed at the Park at Twig Bog.
Created by local artist and sculptor, Billy Moore, the project was carried out in collaboration between Cappoquin Community Development Company and Waterford City and County Council.
Installed only last week, Denis McCarthy, chairman of Cappoquin Community Development Company, explained that alongside members of MR Cavanagh’s family, it was decided last year that an artistic feature would be installed in the town to remember the significant contributions of Tom, his wife Marie and TOMAR Trust.
