The 2024 Budget is a wildly different experience for people across the country, as while some (typically those past retirement age) will be delighted with the sums coming their way, others are left standing by the sidelines wondering when the good times are coming for them. However, across the board, it appears that people in Fermoy and Mitchelstown will not let the Budget cloud their voting judgement.
First, the good: 73-year-old Breda Crowe spoke with The Avondhu on Wednesday morning in Mitchelstown with her friends, Margaret Moloney and Maria. Are they happy with the Budget?
“Yes!” admit all three, laughing. “We’re delighted. We all got a bit extra. But you can see our age group!”
