Mitchelstown student keeps GAA spirit alive in Poland

A Mitchelstown woman studying veterinary medicine in Poland is helping to raise funds for the GAA club she played a part in founding when abroad.

Isabelle Forde, whose family runs Mitchelstown veterinary hospital, is currently in the fifth year of her studies in Wroclaw, in the south of Poland. Following in the footsteps of both her grandfather and mother, Isabelle has pursued a career in veterinary, but had to travel overseas to do so due to the limited number of college places available in Ireland. 

Poland has become a major destination for Irish veterinary students, with Isabelle noting that there are around 120 Irish students in her university alone, as well as many more spread around various other colleges in the country.
