At last Friday's official opening of the new Gaelscoil de hIde all Irish primary school in Fermoy, priomhoide, Sean MacGearailt, paid tribute to all those who've been part of Gaelscoil de hIde since it commenced in 1982.

In his address, he made a special point of thanking the 'tuismitheoiri' (parents) who when approached about the possibility of sending their child to an all Irish school, embraced the concept and set in train a remarkable success story that reached another significant chapter last Friday morning.
