Kildorrery National School pupil Liam Drake, met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney recently, to stand up to bullying in schools and clubs in Munster and across the country.
Together, the pair launched the ISPCC’s Shield Week and called on schools, teachers, parents and pupils to ensure they take a stand against bullying by taking part in the Shield Programme 2017/18.
Kildorrery NS principal Rachel Kelly, said she was very proud of Liam and added that she was delighted Kildorrery NS was involved in this initiative that supports communities, schools and clubs to tackle and prevent bullying.
“We are very lucky to have Liam’s mum Aoife Griffin, ISPCC Regional Manager, as a member of our school community as we hope to provide young people with the necessary coping skills to deal with and protect themselves from bullying.”
