Each year, the Kildorrery Community Development Association have brought the points for the Tidy Towns Competition up and up and their recent meeting sought to bring fresh eyes on the village.

The development association are hoping to set up a dedicated Tidy Towns Committee and with this week's fruitful meeting, around 20 people brainstormed about what the village needs, what areas need to be enhanced and what they can all do to continue to improve Kildorrery and make it a lovely place to live, work and pass through.

A small group of people will now meet on Sunday morning at 10am in Oaklawn Community Centre to do a walk of the village and make notes about which areas need attention.

This will then be brought back to the next meeting in two weeks and anyone who feels that they would have something to contribute is more than welcome to attend.

They will also continue their clean-ups on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings and anyone who is interested in doing litter picks, weeding, painting or other activities can contact the community office on 022-25777.
