Last weekend saw another historic event at Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre, and indeed the wider Mitchelstown area.
For the first time in over 20 years, members of the King family, the family which established modern Mitchelstown, visited the area.
For residents and visitors to the area, the Earls of Kingston’s legacy is evident on a daily basis – our wide, well planned streets and our beautiful architecture remind us of the innovation of past generations.
However, for the current Countess of Kingston and her two children, some of this came as a revelation and the few days spent in Mitchelstown proved an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of their forebears.
