No joy for Bally’ handballers
Another busy week with the girls soccer. First up were the U14s when we made the short journey to Burncourt for our second last league game of the season. A goal down, Lorna Lewis scored the equaliser just before half-time with a well taken goal.
The girls really took the game to Burncurt in the second half and Mae McKenna gave us the league with a long range shot. We had to soak up a lot of pressure for the next few minutes but Jade and Ciara were well up to the task and we put the Icing on the cake when Pauline Casey came up with our 3rd goal to the delight of the travelling support – Kilbehenny Celtic 3 Burncurt Celtic 1.
Team: Gemma Geary Jade Barry Pauline Casey Chloe Cleary Mae McKenna Chloe Barry Lorna Lewis and Ciara Heenan.
Next up was the U12s as we travelled to Cashel to take on the home team in a top of the table clash. A titanic struggle from the start, our keeper, Gemma Geary, kept us in touch with some fine saves. Half-time 0-0!
The second half was much the same until a super pass from Molly put Aoibheann through and she stuck it away perfectly. The girls kept up the tempo and when Chloe Barry went down the right wing and crossed brilliantly we had 2 players in the box to tap home with Chloe Cleary getting the final touch. Fulltime Kilbehenny Celtic 2 Cashel 0! Well done girls!
We moved on to Burncurt for our u10 blitz and had four games against Cashel,Tipperary Town, Cahir and Burncurt. The girls played some great soccer in very cold conditions and had a brilliant day. Well done to the girls. A special thanks to the parents who brought grub on the day much appreciated!
