This Sunday, June 19, Glanworth Community Council will be remembering and honouring the men and women of 1916 with a special commemorative service and ceremony.

The commemoration will begin with Mass in Holy Cross Church in Glanworth and the community council wish to thank Fr Michael Corkery and also Mary Lawton and the choir for all of their work on the remembrance Mass.

Mass will be followed by a parade for the blessing of the rose garden and, thanks to Elizabeth Desmond, anyone who cannot walk in the parade can park in the school car park where seating will be set up.

Jennifer Healy Kiely from School Around the Corner has also provided the community council with power for the rose garden and water for the teas and coffees on Sunday.
