As the owner of Mr Mister menswear for almost 25 years, Val O’Gorman will be well-known to many in The Avondhu area. Having managed a branch of the outlet in Mitchelstown for years, the enterprise continues to flourish just over the border in Tipperary.
With decades of experience in dressing men for all occasions, Val has been getting men looking their best since 1999. Today, at the branches in Cahir and Cashel, Mr O’Gorman is continuing to suit-and-boot men for one of the most important days of their lives – their wedding. Speaking of the very loyal customers and friends he continues to host from Mitchelstown, Val told The Avondhu that he’s forever grateful to people in the Avondhu area for their continuous support and friendship.
“We’ve got one of the biggest selection of menswear and formalwear in the Munster region with sizes going all the way up to 8XL “says Mr O’Gorman.
“We at Mr Mister cater for all shapes and sizes, with packages that will suit almost all budgets.”
With trends changing so quickly, it’s unsurprising to learn that the finished look can be a little different to what people might be used to traditionally.
“The style would be more casual sometimes, particularly for weddings abroad. It wouldn’t be unusual to see shorts, or the groom in linen trousers, the smart-casual element has really crept in, and there’s always an option for differentiation with the groom which we would recommend, be in in the waistcoat, or the blazer, or another element of the outfit “.
Today, the wedding season continues throughout the 12 months of the year as couples hold off to secure their ideal location. However, the organisation still needs to be done in a timely manner and ideally the groomsmen will make their way to Mr Mister as soon as they are ready to start the process.
QUALITY CONTROL
“We found that since since fittings weren’t available during Covid, people have gone off the idea of wearing a hired suit. In any case, we want your chosen outfit to be comfortable and suitable for your occasion” says Val.
“Any suits purchased at Mr Mister are extensively checked before they leave the premises; we also have a tailoring option, which is done locally”.
When looking one’s best is important, Val says that he’s been there for many important occasions: “I’ve been there for christenings, for weddings, and of course for sadder occasions too, and I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank to everybody for their continued support.’
