Glenville’s Ava McKenna, a student at Loreto Secondary School in Fermoy, was recognised for her outstanding voluntary work and received an individual award at the prestigious event held in the Midland Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Saturday last, 12th November.

Ava was recognised for the tremendous work she did with the Ability@work programme as part of Cope Foundation, which is designed to support people with disabilities entering the workplace.

Her school, Loreto Fermoy, have worked with this programme over the past few years in a collaboration that has huge benefits for the students, as well as the programme.
