North Cork gardaí launched a blitz across The Avondhu region in a day of action recently in an effort to deal a blow to criminals and make the roads safer.
Gardaí from Fermoy posted 38 checkpoints in a ring around the area and during the operation, they targeted road traffic offences and suspicious drivers.
The gardaí told The Avondhu that very positive feedback was obtained by personnel from members of the public stopped at these checkpoints.
