Jarlath Burns has been a busy and active GAA president. His duties continue to take him all over the island and on Friday last he visited north Cork – taking in Fermoy and Kilworth.

He was formally welcomed to Páirc Mhicheal MacGearailt Park (Michael Fitzgerald Park) by chairman of Fermoy GAA, Mitchelstown based solicitor, Ciaran O’Keeffe. Ciaran said it was an honour to have the national president in attendance.

“It’s a very significant day for us as we officially open both the Brendan Keane meeting room and our new AstroTurf facility,” he said. Ciaran made a special point of acknowledging the input and expertise of the late Brendan Keane.
