A night of country music, dancing and traditional entertainment will take place in May in The Firgrove Hotel to raise money jointly for St Joseph's Foundation and the Cork Mental Health Foundation.

With Michael Collins headlining and also music from Finbarr Dennehy, Trudi Lalor and PJ Murrihy, it promises to be a great night. There will also be a special performance from Titanium, a Mitchelstown group from the Kilshanna Music, Arts and Drama studio.

The committee are made up of representatives from St Joseph's Foundation and Cork Mental Health Foundation, as well as local Gardai, members of the community council, the Kilshanna studio, Lion's Club and the Mitchelstown day centre -  all hoping to raise as much as they can for both organisations. This is the first joint fundraiser of its kind to raise money for both groups.

All of the acts have performed in The Firgrove before, so this offers a great opportunity to catch up with familiar well known songs or to catch them now if you missed them before. With the money going to good causes, it will be a very worthy night out. There will also be a variety of spot prizes on the night, sponsored by local businesses.

Artist Joe Murray has also kindly donated a painting of his, which will be on dispaly in the hotel on the night and tickets will be on sale for €5 with a separate raffle taking place for this item, with all proceeds going to the same organisations.

Tickets are €20 each and are available from The Firgrove on 025-24111 or by contacting John Keating on 087-2099036. Donations will also be gratefully received.

The fundraising dance takes place in The Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown on May 11 with doors at 8pm and all support would be greatly appreciated.
