Roll up roll up, it’s officially here! On 9th July, Fota Wildlife Park in Cork will host a fundraising Twilight Walk for BUMBLEance, the Children’s National Ambulance Service. The walk will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm (last entry is 6.45pm).

All the proceeds raised from the Twilight Walk will go directly towards the annual running costs of the BUMBLEance Services, which provides help and support to sick children and their families as they travel to and from home to hospital, national treatment centres, and respite and hospice care facilities nationwide.

Free service

BUMBLEance is the first and only ambulance service specifically designed and tailored for sick children, providing a free service to sick children and their families and also provides a fully qualified professional paramedic on board.

The BUMBLEance vehicle is fully kitted out with a TV, Playstation, DVD’s, music, fun BUMBLEance branding interior and exterior and sensory lighting.

BUMBLEance also provides a Chemo Cab service and enables both the sick child and family members to travel with their loved ones in a safe, comfortable, fun and secure environment.

Speaking at the launch of the Twilight Walk, Director of Fota Wildlife Park, Sean McKeown said; “We are delighted to be able to host the special Twilight Walk in aid of BUMBLEance again in the wildlife park, now in its third year running at the wildlife it has become a special evening in our calendar.

“As Fota Wildlife Park is a not-for-profit organisation, we understand the tremendous effort charities put into their fundraising throughout the year and we are thrilled to support such a wonderful cause.

“Thanks to volunteers from both Fota Wildlife and BUMBLEance, who give up their time freely for the event, we are able donate 100% of the proceeds from the Twilight Walk to BUMBLEance.”

The service also provides a unique and specialized service through end of life Angel Trips, which is the final journey a terminally ill child takes on earth before he or she grows their Angel Wings.

Cost of entry on the night for the walk will be €10 per adult and €5 per child with 100% of the proceeds going directly towards BUMBLEance.
