Local representatives braved the rain last week to officially turn the sod at the new Lidl development in Fermoy.
A spokesperson for Lidl said that the new state-of-the-art store will offer customers an enhanced shopping experience with a number of amenities including spacious aisles, a larger fresh bakery, a Lidl to Go coffee machine, free parking spaces and electric charging points.
The new store is expected to open in time for Christmas 2019, with 10 new jobs created in the local area.
