Michael O’Conner from The Plough in Curraglass had fantastic success at the racecourse in the Dundalk Stadium Handicap when he achieved the first win of his horse racing career.
Michael brought one of his favourites, Gottardo, over the line and won the race by a head on April 10.
“I ride him out often so I know the go of him, but it’s all about luck. I was very fortunate,” Michael told The Avondhu.
Gottard, the three-year-old gelding is owned and bred by Peter Piller, Mrs Magnier and Mrs Stack and trained by Stack Racing.
