
Stage veteran, Cathal O’Keeney and his all-star cast were responsible for the cheers and boos that emanated from The Palace Theatre in Fermoy last weekend. The reason for all the excitement, was a production of the classic tale of ‘Dick Whittington & His Cat’ – the 2025/26 Fermoy panto.
In his programme notes, Cathal, who also found time to play the hard pressed, ‘Alderman’, promised patrons ‘imagination, energy, laughter and a touch of magic’. The panto delivered this and lots more to capacity crowds last Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Aided by stellar performances from the likes of Sean Harnett (Dick), Alice Coultis-Edwards (The Cat), Liam English (Sally), Donna Rose O’Keeney (Cleopatra), Olkan (Idle Jack), Julie McLoughlin (Anastasia), Chloe Dowling (Alice) and Caitriona Barry (Fairy Ellie), this show bowled along at a terrific pace – carrying an excited audience with in.
