The build-up continues for the Fermoy Christmas Lights big switch-on, taking place in the town on Friday night, ahead of the Late Late Toy Show. From outside Synergy Credit Union on Patrick Street, the town’s main street is to be illuminated.

Santa Claus is earmarked to visit the town for that evening, and the Fermoy Christmas Lights committee are promising an evening of fun, entertainment and Christmas cheer as the festive season kicks in in style.

At 7pm, the night sky is also to light up, as this year, fireworks are to fill the sky too.

“As Chairman, I’m asking everyone to come out and support it. It’s going to be a great night for Fermoy,” Cllr Noel McCarthy said.
