Kades Kounty in Glenville will be the venue for a nostalgic night of memories on Friday, August 5th when local musician Eamonn Hoskins will celebrate 50 years in the music business.

Music began for Eamonn at an early age and also for his son Shane Hoskins and Eamon’s brother Pat Hoskins (the Buddy Holly of the family) at the family home in Bluebell, Bartlemy.

Back in in 1961, Eamon played with his uncle Tom Heskin in St Bartholomew’s Band in Bartlemy Hall. Eamon travelled uphill to Bartlemy on his bike, singing all the way, filled with anticipation and excitement.

The seed was sown, waiting to blossom.

The music brought Eamon and The Zodiaks to venues all over the county and country, venues such as the famed Pinewood Ballroom in Glenville, the Conna Barbecue, the City Hall Cork, Arcadia Ballroom (home of the famous Dixies Showband), the great Bedbarn in Youghal, Dromoland Castle, the Hunt Ball in Ennis, Co Clare and Christmas parties with the late, great Brendan O’Brien.

A night of nostalgia, great music and entertainment is promised in Kades Kounty then, on Friday 5th with the famed Zodiaks Showband reeling in the years.

Remedy, Tom Healy, St Kevin’s Céilí Band and St Kevin’s Showband will perform, along with old and new members of The Zodiaks with Willie O’Keeffe as MC.

They were the good old days my friend, the times they are a-changing.

Come and dance the night away and remember, save the last dance for me! Doors open at 8.30pm.
