Fermoy’s Dr Tom Cavanagh is to receive the Hall of Fame award at the Cork Person of the Year awards ceremony due to be held on January 17. 

The well known businessman, philanthropist, educationalist and environmentalist is the third Cork man to enter the Hall of Fame in the 27 years of the awards scheme.

The other past inductees were Ted Crosbie and Fergal Keane OBE.
