Cork County Council is delighted to announce the successful recipients of the Creative Start-Up Scheme 2026, an initiative designed to support artists, designers, makers and creative entrepreneurs in developing retail and creative spaces throughout County Cork.
Following a competitive application process, funding has been awarded to MÓR Artists Collective; WorkShop Bantry; Bere Island Heritage and Cultural Centre, along with Peach Vintage Clothing.
Funded through Creative Ireland, the scheme supports projects that bring creativity into town and village centres, encourage cultural participation, and create opportunities for artists and makers to connect with local communities.
The successful projects represent a diverse range of creative enterprises, from artist-led retail and exhibition spaces to heritage, craft and sustainable creative retail initiatives. Through the scheme, recipients will receive financial support of up to €5,000, along with access to business mentoring and guidance from the Local Enterprise Office.
“The Creative Start-Up Scheme continues to demonstrate the important role that creative enterprise plays in revitalising our towns and villages,” Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Bernard Moynahan said. “The projects selected this year showcase the diversity, innovation and talent that exists across County Cork. From artist collectives and creative workspaces to heritage and sustainable retail initiatives, each project will contribute to vibrant local communities while creating valuable opportunities for artists, makers and the public to engage with creativity.”
The Creative Start-Up Scheme forms part of Cork County Council’s wider commitment to supporting cultural development, creative entrepreneurship and the regeneration of town and village centres across the county.
