The countdown is on for the cast members of ‘Don’t Tell The Wife’, this year’s production by Kilworth Dramatic Society. This is a hilarious comedy written by Sam Cree.

This fast moving comedy runs over a period of three nights, where confusion, misunderstandings and loyalties all get put together to give you a night full of belly laughs. Isobel played by Colette Sheehan is a character that we all know and love where she can’t keep her nose out of other people’s business but behind it all, she has great intentions. Throw in Cyril played by Rory Gill who is a young impressionable male that has a problem with women, he just can’t have one woman, but has to have multiple women and of course he has to have a dog as well just to mix up all his female friends.

One of his female friends is Hilda played by Belinda Carey, who is a very quite innocent young lady but is she really that quite? When Edna, played by Lorraine O’Brien the woman of the house, gets the wrong end of the stick from her husband Bobbie played by Derek O’Riordan, she takes some drastic actions and gets involved with another man called Basil played by Colm Carey. Basil is a very seductive man which leads to even more confusion.

Poor Eric played by Jack Quirke is left gobsmacked by all the female attention that he is getting. Finally Georgette the lady from France (Sarah Cremin) is definitely not worried about being a wee bit forward.

The cast are the in capable hands of director Mick Twomey. The play will run for 5 nights which are Saturday, 28th Feb, Sunday, 1st March, Wednesday, 4th March, Thursday, 5th March and Saturday, 7th March. The venue is in The Village Art Centre Kilworth, commencing at 8pm nightly. Tickets are €15 (cash only) and can be booked on 089-4699522 between 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm daily.
