‘An awful loss’ was the resounding response to the announcement of the upcoming closure of Doneraile Post Office.
It was confirmed this week that the local Post Office will close on Saturday, July 26.
“Unfortunately, the post office in Doneraile, Co. Cork will close on Saturday, July 26. An Post had been facing the possible closure of the office in September of this year and had been trying to find an alternative contractor to provide post office services there.
“No applications were received for the vacant contract position and circumstances beyond An Post’s control prompted an earlier than planned closure date,” a statement from An Post read.
