On Friday, 8th November at 8pm, Back of the Hand Theatre presents Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author, John Patrick Shanley’s ('Doubt', 'Moonstruck') breakthrough play 'Danny and the Deep Blue Sea' at Friars' Gate Theatre, Kilmallock.

The setting is a rundown bar in the Bronx, where two of society's rejects, Danny and Roberta, strike up a halting conversation over their beer. This is a raw, funny and poignant romantic tale, directed by Irish Times Theatre Awards nominee, Peter Reid ('Pinter x 4').

The play is performed by Edwin Mullane (DruidMurphy, 'Whacker Murphy’s Bad Buzz') and Clodagh Downing ('Patsy Dick, Lauren Begaun'). Tickets are €12/€10.

“An explosive, deeply affecting study of alienation and the redemptive power of love - the play is the equivalent of sitting at ringside watching a prize fight that concludes in a loving embrace." —NY Times.

"…a funny, frightening, hypnotically fascinating evening of theatre…" - Drama-Logue.
