A decision on the proposed anaerobic digestion facility at Corracunna, Mitchelstown, has been delayed for a second time. The postponement has placed renewed focus on the absence of dedicated national planning guidance for anaerobic digestion facilities.
An Coimisiún Pleanála had originally set July 29th as the timeframe to determine the appeal, following an earlier postponement from May 6th. However, in a letter dated July 28th, the planning appeals body informed Cork County Council that it had not been possible to meet the revised deadline “due to the complexity of the case”.
No revised decision date has yet been provided. The commission said the appeal will be determined “as soon as possible” and apologised for the continued delay.
