Organisers of Kilworth Festival 2026 can reflect on an event that once again united the village, while at the same time delivering spectacularly when it came to variety, entertainment and old-fashioned fun.

The festival ended as it started – on a high, with hundreds attending last Sunday’s ‘Fair in the Square’. Fun and games for the kids, trade stands for adults and music for all, courtesy of local group, The Clondulaners, made up the bulk of the programme. A glorious summer’s day, access to the playground nearby and an opportunity for patrons to eat and drink out of doors, contributed to the enjoyment factor.

Proprietor of Scrumptious, local woman, Sharon O’Keeffe, brought a vast array of home baking to the fair, only for every single item to be purchased by day’s end. It was a similar story for other vendors; such was the success of the village-centre gathering.
