Young students in north Cork were treated to a visit recently from Cork camogie star Orla Cotter and the O'Duffy Cup, following the Rebel ladies victory in the All-Ireland final last month.

Orla, along with fellow Cork camogie player Finola Neville, is a former student of Ballynoe National School and was greeted at the school on her arrival by a sea of Cork jerseys and flags.

She spoke to the pupils of the importance of hard work and dedication when striving to be successful in their chosen areas of interest, be that sport, academia, arts etc. She then gave graciously of her time, signing jerseys and hurleys for the children.

On the day, Orla also paid visits to Conna National School, Curraglass National School and Castlelyons National School, as well as Conna Nursing & Convalescent Home.
