Next Friday, October 10th will see the first fundraising event in aid of Castlelyons Community Centre in many years with a concert that will feature James Kilbane of the ‘Voice of Ireland’ fame at 8pm.

James Ronayne outlined to The Avondhu this week: "James Kilbane is a well known country singer with some gospel songs in his repertoire. This is going to be a wonderful night’s entertainment and will appeal to all ages. This is a 'first' for many years in aid of the community centre and hopefully we will have many more.

"The community centre is tired and in need of a huge facelift and refurbishment to come into the 21st Century. It is also hoped to bring life to the community centre by day as well as by night. It has served all aspects of the community extremely well over the last 40 years, so now help us reform and equip it for the next 40 years."

James wished to emphasise that this is 'a community centre for all the community' and asked the people of the parish and outlying areas to please make an effort to support this very important fundraiser.

"Your attendance will make all the difference, so see you there hopefully," he said.

Tickets for the event are available at Fermoy Book Shop, Pearse Square or from Ann at 086-8874157.
