The Christmas season will get underway in Kilbehenny this weekend with what is expected to be the largest ever Kilbehenny annual Christmas fair, taking place this Sunday, December 4, at the community centre.
The outdoor Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 4pm on the day also, with local children singing carols to add tom the occasion.
The Christmas fair will consist of stalls inside the community centre, and a market with goods for sale outside will take place also.
Moss Fitzgerald, treasurer of Kilbehenny Community Centre, said the fair always offers the best Christmas gifts at the most reasonable prices and this year the hall is set to be packed with stalls.
“It is always a nice event. The last couple of years it has been packed. We are encouraging locals to sample the unique Christmas atmosphere in our village this Sunday,” he added.
There will be a tree of remembrance on site and food will be available on the day.
The community centre will also have a fundraising stand with used toys, which have been kept in good condition and are available to buy.
