
Members of Fianna Fáil and their supporters gathered at the Republican Plot in Kilcrumper Old Graveyard last Sunday to mark the 110th anniversary of the Easter Rising.
Here, they heard Castletownroche based councillor, Nelius Cotter, give the keynote address. One of the region’s youngest public representatives, Cllr. Cotter is already making a name for himself as a diligent and hard working politician. In his address, Cllr. Cotter spoke about the motivation and ideals of the men and women who defied British rule in Ireland over 100 years ago.
“We in Fianna Fail, who draw our membership from across all strands of Irish society continue to take inspiration from those who took part in the Easter Rising; as an active organisation with roots in every parish in Ireland, we continue to be guided by the principles of Irish unification, equality for all and a commitment to nation building,” he said.
