The author says she will read me an extract, so I can get a feel for the book. She opens it on a random page and starts into ‘Wall’: “Where are you, where are you hiding, only behind the confines of your mind which you use as a wall to keep yourself out.”

As she reads the remainder of the poem it strikes a cord with me, a seed is planted in my mind and I ruminated on it all day, long after the interview has finished.

I am meeting with Glanworth based author, Kathleen Ahern, who has just published her first book, a collection of 33 poems, called Possibilities With Love From The Angels.

Kathleen says her poems are about life and are meditative and contemplative in nature. Her aim is that people will regularly take something from the book that will help them through their daily lives and also allow them to make changes to their future.

“How some people have said they use it is that they open the book on a daily basis and whatever page they are on is very relevant to them. The aim is, people will take a moment or two and the book will make them think about what is going on in their life.”
