The ‘new’ national school in Galbally is celebrating its 50th anniversary – to mark this, and the contribution to education of the ‘old’ school, a night of celebration is taking place in The Shamrock Lounge, Kilross on Saturday, October 22 at 8pm.
The event will commence with a thanksgiving Mass followed by an evening of reminiscing where old school days will be recalled. Anyone associated with either school is welcome to attend – tickets are now on sale from the school and local outlets at a very competitive €10. Music is by Kim’s People, followed by a disco with DJ, Tom Cussen.
Organisers would especially like to hear from past pupils who may have left the area or be living abroad.
The celebrations will also include the launch of a publication looking back at the history of national school education in Galbally.
