Castlelyons LGFC founder to be honoured in Croke Park

John Leetch, chairman of Castlelyons Ladies Football Club, who will be honoured in Croke Park on Friday as Club Committee Officer of the Year at the LGFA national volunteer awards.

Castlelyons local and founder of Castlelyons Ladies Gaelic Football Club, John Leetch, will be making his way to Croke Park on Friday to receive a 2024 LGFA Volunteer of the Year award.

Described as the ‘driving force’ behind the club, Mr Leetch has been named as the Club Committee Officer of the Year, an honour that ‘came out of the blue’ for the clubman, who described his nomination as ‘very exciting’.

“It’s great to get recognition for the work you put in,” he told The Avondhu this week.
