The 15-strong staff syndicate at Herlihy’s Centra in Fermoy are already planning holidays and shopping sprees after winning €117,790 in the National Lottery last Wednesday night.
The syndicate members, who have been buying tickets every week for the last 10 years, will take home a handy sum of €7,852 each.
The first word that the winning ticket was sold in Herlihy’s Centra came early on Thursday morning but the syndicate ticket wasn’t checked until later that morning.
The winners were all buzzing with excitement last Tuesday morning as they gathered outside Centra waiting to hop on their hired bus to Dublin. The National Lottery office was the set destination as they awaited a rub of the cheque.
