Conna native and St Catherine’s GAA star, Daniel Mangan, was selected on the starting team for Cork intermediate hurlers in the All-Ireland final against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park last Saturday.

As an employee of the Irish Defence Forces based in Collins Barracks and as a part-time personal trainer, Dan is improving fitness, nutrition and mindset every day through his work. Naturally, this has a positive impact on his game and he feels lucky to be in a job he loves which also benefits his sport endeavours.

The intermediates had been only training together as a team for about three weeks prior to the match but as all the players had been training hard at club level so all were well prepared physically.
