The owners of Ballyhoura Mountain Mushrooms have hit out at hotels for listing their award winning products in menus when they are not customers of theirs.
Mark Cribbin and Lucy Deegan are based in the Ballyhoura mountains between Ballylanders and Kilfinane and they have gone public about the rise in the number of establishments falsely listing their products on menus.
Speaking to The Avondhu, Mark explained that they supply to a number of hotels, Michelin star restaurants and smaller cafes.
“We supply directly, we don’t deal with wholesalers and we know exactly who our customers are,” he said.
The most recent hotels to list Ballyhoura Mountain Mushrooms on their menus even though they are not customers of theirs included four-star hotels – one in Killarney, one in Cork and a five-star hotel in Galway.
