
Members of the public have been advised to ‘stay well clear’ of the old Presentation Convent site in the centre of Mitchelstown, following the arrest of three people on the grounds.
The town centre site is in the process of being transformed into a residential development. Surveillance cameras recently installed to help secure the development site, has captured individuals, the majority of whom are believed to be youths, trespassing and causing damage.
Speaking with The Avondhu last Friday, the developer, Gerry O’Sullivan of Rockspring Properties, said that a live monitoring system has been installed on site which issues verbal warnings to those trespassing before gardaí are contacted.
