After months of inactivity, amateur drama is back in a serious way. Throughout The Avondhu catchment, venues are once again playing host to a variety of productions.
Things are particularly busy in Ballyduff Upper – the setting for the 40th staging of the West Waterford Drama Festival.
Speaking at last Friday's opening night, long serving committee member and current festival chairman, Hugh Collins, said demand for quality drama was as strong as ever.
"Performers are delighted to be back and the public have lost no time returning to venues. There's a brilliant line up for the next week and audiences will be treated to some excellent drama," he said.
